Terry Bogus – Promo EP (2007) – Self released (English Translation)

Facts: Terry Bogus is from the Netherlands. Terry Bogus was born from the ashes of Fake No More, just like the mythogical Phoenix. Fake No More was a Faith No More tribute band. The FNM phantom is here to haunt them. This is their debut EP. The EP is available for free download in their official website.

I. Locked: Energic Rock. Reminiscent of the FNM’s King For A Day / Album Of The Year era. It doesn’t hits the 2 minutes long. Simple but effective. 85%
II. Candy Smile:
More melodic but with some experimental touches. Tomahawk comes to mind. Voice with megaphone. Great chorus. 80%
III. Sospecha De Tu Muerte:
Interlude. Sampled base. Spanish spoken-word. It is so kitsch that it may even work. 60%
IV. One Single Bite:
The Patton phantom. A fusion of Tomahawk from the self titled record and FNM era The Real Thing. Another great chorus. 85%
V. Quaere:
It begins with vinyl scratchings. Softer tune. Lead vocals kinda out of tune. Sci-fi and Hawaiian sounds. Once again, it sounds so kitsch that it functions well. 70%
VI. Running Home:
More experimental oriented tune. The FNM ghost haunting them once again. Reminiscent of their early Funk Rock. The final segment is awesome! Love the final result. 90%
VII. Today Is The Day:
Trip Hop oriented Pop / Rock song. Love the main idea but they didn’t managed to accomplish such a great tune. It lacks something. 65%
VIII. 54321:
The heaviest and most experimental tune in this EP. Epic and orchestral keyboards in the good old fashioned FNM style. I really loved this one. 90%

Final Percentage: 80%
