BIO Resumida:
1989. O Alex e uns amigos criam o programa de rádio "Fénix" na Bairrada FM.
Um par de anos depois, entro em cena e assumo sozinho os comandos do programa, durante cerca de 12 anos.
A rádio fecha as portas.
Já a estudar em Viseu crio o "Interferências" na Viriato FM. Uns anos mais tarde, a rádio acaba com os programas de autor.
A rádio já não é o que era.
Após um ano sem fazer nada, viro-me para as novas tecnologias. Crio o Fénix Webzine em formato blogspot. Por falta de tempo a coisa estagna. A Fénix arde mais uma vez.
2012. A Fénix renasce das cinzas. Volta às ondas hertzianas.

Short BIO:
1989. Alex and some friends kickstart the “Fénix” show at the local station “Bairrada FM”.
A couple of years later, I take command, for about 12 years.
The station calls it a quit.
Living in another city, I start a new show called "Interferências" at “Viriato FM”. A few years later the station terminates every single alternative show.
Radio is not the same anymore.
After a year, I create “Fénix Webzine” as a blogspot.
2012. The Phoenix (Fénix in Portuguese) reborns from its ashes. “Fénix Radio Show” is back!

Após longo hiato de notícias eis que, na próxima
sexta-feira 13, os ASSASSINNER regressam aos palcos!
O Sexta-Feira 13 - Blindagem Metal Show é o
festival escolhido para lançamento do esperado álbum de estreia “When Love Left
the Masquerade”, que estará, pela primeira vez, disponível ao
público.

Os Fever nunca pararam de me surpreender
desde o início, tanto musicalmente como em relação a todo o conceito artístico
que envolve a banda. Só há um problema em relação à banda, e é o facto de termos
de esperar imenso tempo entre lançamentos. São EPs, singles, concertos
esporádicos, etc. Os Fever gostam de levar o seu tempo a fazer as coisas,
preparar tudo, deixar as arestas bem limadas, e têm sempre ideias diferentes e
conceitos inovadores que não falham. Mas essa longa espera entre edições é até
prejudicial para os mesmos; pelo menos nestes tempos em que a informação passa a
voar e bandas aparecem e desaparecem a cada segundo. Os Fever vão passando
despercebidos e nunca chegaram propriamente a ter o impacto, a aceitação e o
respeito que bem merecem.
Deixando estes desabafos de lado e passando ao registo que
tenho em mãos, o que temos é apenas um tema novo, 5 remisturas do mesmo, assim
como uma remistura de “Questions And Answers” dos Sci-Fi Industries feita pelos
Fever em 2007, uma pequena faixa multimédia e outro material ao qual não tive
direito neste promocional (óculos 3D e outras cenas que não percebi bem). Serve
apenas como aperitivo para o novo trabalho “Behold A Pale Horse”, supostamente a
editar agora em 2010 e que será composto por CD, DVD e livro. Tudo isto leva
imenso tempo a preparar e, como já referi, os Fever querem tudo perfeito. Por
isso mesmo, temos de esperar e desesperar. O que aqui está é bom. Desculpem.
Está é mesmo soberbo! Mas é muito pouco. Quero mais. E já! Tenho de ir buscar

Albert Fish “News From The Front” (Raging Planet / Zerowork / Your Poison / Criminal Attack / Graver, 2009)
Segundo disco de originais dos Lisboetas Albert Fish, após a
estreia “Strongly Recommended” de 2002, e um split com os Brasileiros Garotos
Podres em 2006. Já ouvi a estreia, mas sinceramente não me lembro bem e nunca
adquiri o CD, por isso não posso comparar. O split nunca cheguei a ouvir sequer.
Mistura de Punk Rock sing-a-long com Hardcore melódico é o que nos oferecem. São
12 temas em cerca de 35 minutos. Tanto vão beber ao Punk ’77 ou Streetpunk, como
ao lado Hardcore da coisa, como às cenas mais melódicas de proveniência Fat
Wreck ou Epitaph dos inícios. Mas a fusão está bem feita e conseguiram criar uma
sonoridade bem homogénea. Tem força, rapidez, melodia, atitude. Não vai salvar o

Blackjackers “Held Open May Cause Delay” EP (Raging Planet / Raising Legends, 2010)
Este é o EP de estreia dos Blackjackers,
uma banda que toca um Rock ‘n’ Roll que tanto tem de garage como de rockabilly.
É demasiado simples, tanto musicalmente como em termos líricos, para o seu
próprio bem. Não que simplicidade e clichés sejam maus, mas falta aqui qualquer
coisa. Até mesmo a capa é do mais simples e aparvalhado possível. A voz é
repetitiva e torna-se algo maçadora ainda a meio do disco. E ainda se põem a
inventar na última faixa com uma remistura fusão 80s New Wave e electrónica
kitsch dos 90s que destoa do resto. Ao vivo poderá resultar com toda aquela
loucura e diversão típicas do Rock ‘n’ Roll, mas em disco falta aquele extra que
faz as bandas relevantes. Não traz nada de novo, nem cativa particularmente. Mas
atenção! Também não é mau de todo. Há é aqui ideias que poderiam ter sido melhor
exploradas. São pouco mais de 21 minutos de música que servem de aperitivo para
a estreia de longa duração, a editar nos inícios de 2011. Aguarda-se algo com um
pouco mais de substância ou aquele “je ne sais quoi” que lhe falta para chamar a
atenção e sobressair do resto da manada. Edição conjunta com a Raising Legends.

Novo trabalho para os Rockabillies lusos
The Dixie Boys. São apenas 17m19s e sabem a pouco. Há aqui algo de novo? Não. Há
aqui algo de original? Não. É tudo extremamente cliché, mas está bem feito e
transpira gosto e atitude. Estas coisas sentem-se de certa maneira, pelo menos
por quem gosta, vive e respira música, e nestes Dixies Boys isso sente-se.
Rockabilly dos 50s sem adições é o que temos nestes 7 temas. Talvez se ouça bem
e não seja maçador por serem apenas 17 minutos, por isso aguarda-se novo longa
duração para verificar se mais tempo prejudica o ambiente geral ou não. Falta
