Gösta Berlings Saga – Detta Har Hänt (2009) – Transubstans

O quarteto instrumental Sueco Gösta Berlings Saga está de volta. “Detta Har Hänt” inclui 8 faixas em pouco mais de 53 minutos. Basicamente Rock Progressivo é isso que se pode chamar à sonoridade de GBS. Um dos pontos positivos do disco é ter sido gravado ao vivo em estúdio, conservando assim alguma intensidade e energia orgânicas que se poderiam perder de outra maneira. Apenas foram feitos alguns overdubs com sons adicionais. Um dos pontos negativos, e que é o “calcanhar de Aquiles” de todos os discos instrumentais, é o facto do álbum ser muito longo e tornar-se algo monótono ao fim de alguns temas. Gargamel – Descending (2009) – Transubstans

Os Noruegueses Gargamel regressam com o segundo de estúdio, “Descending”. Os 4 temas (cerca de 47 minutos) vagueiam algures entre o Rock progressivo Nórdico dos 70s, o Post-Rock, o Doom Rock, com algumas pitadas de Psychedelic e Folk. “Descending” revela uns Gargamel mais obscuros, introspectivos, depressivos, melancólicos. Ao tradicional trio guitarra/baixo/bateria aliam-se pontuais passagens de inúmeros outros instrumentos que dão uma cor adicional ao som Gargamel. Creio que poderá agradar a fãs de material tão díspar como King Crimson, Van Der Graaf Generator, Katatonia, Isis, Anekdoten, Kaipa, Tool, Pendragon ou Opeth, por exemplo. Já estou a começar a ficar farto destes promocionais com os temas divididos em 99 faixas. Isso e as editoras que agora teimaram em fazer promopools online e querem que a imprensa faça o trabalho todo (fazer o download, escrever a crítica, entrevistas, enviar os links e/ou cópias de todo esse trabalho). Sinais dos tempos. Para os jornalistas que são pagos para fazer esse trabalho, óptimo. E as pessoas, como eu, que fazem tudo isto no seu tempo livre, à borla, apenas pelo gosto à música? Antigama “Warning” (2009): Brutal! Simplesmente brutal. Grindcore com apontamentos que vão desde o Death ao Crust, algum Industrial / Noise pelo meio, passando ainda por material mais avantgarde e técnico. Metam no mesmo caldeirão Nasum, Cephalic Carnage, Pig Destroyer, Messhugah, Voivod, Napalm Death e Disrupt. Rápido, pesado, técnico, intenso, sufocante. Buried Inside “Spoils Of Nature” (2009): Já tinha gostado muito do anterior “Chronology”. Este segue uma linha similar, mas está mais cru, denso e pesado. Para quem ainda não conhece, os Buried Inside anda pelos territórios do Post-qualquer. São 8 temas que assimilam influências de nomes como Neurosis, Isis, Pelican, Cult Of Luna ou Mogwai. Obscura “Cosmogenesis” (2009): Ex-membros de Pestilence e Necrophagist reunem-se para gravar 10 temas de Death Metal técnico com muitos toques progressivos e avantgarde. Tombs “Winter Hours” (2009): Trio Norte-Americano. Em 10 temas faz-se a fusão Post com Punk com Noise com Stoner com Black. Pesado, intenso, denso, e muito assente nos ambientes claustrofóbicos. Zombi “Spirit Animal” (2009): Sendo eu fã de bandas sonoras, o anterior trabalho destes Zombi havia-me agradado imenso. Bom gosto, têm estes tipos, pensei eu ao descortinar algumas das suas influências. Novo trabalho, mesmo estilo, um passo em frente. Aqui adicionam-se ainda algumas guitarras para dar outra dimensão ao som Zombi. Cinematográfico, progressivo, ambiental, psicadélico, espacial. Ainda não conhecem? “Shame on you”!
